Milestone: undecided
Summary: SanDisk SDSSDP064GSanDisk SDSSDP064G: Bogus Power_On_Hours raw value

If the device firmware reports a bogus Power_On_Hours raw value, there is not much we could do.

Did this value exceed the current value in the past?
Does this value increase after each hour?
Is this device in some low power (e.g. STANDBY) mode most of the time (see smartctl -n option on man page) ?

ATA Devices Statistics (part of ATA standard) occasionally provides more reliable values than SMART Attributes (not part ATA standard). This device supports Device Statistics, but unfortunately the General Statistics page with Power-on Hours counter is missing.

For further diagnostics, please provide the output of the following command as an attachment:

smartctl -r ioctl,2 -i -A /dev/sda

comment:3 by hreindl, 8 years ago

no it does not increase after an hour, see the "SMART Self-test log", it seems to be weeks what the device reports
