Description

Please add phpBB to Hosted Apps!

I believe this is the best project around which to discuss S.M.A.R.T. related issues.

I have several questions I want to discuss in your forum. For example

How does the firmware, drivers and operating system avoid writing to pending sectors? How does software force writing to pending sectors?

Why is there a mismatch between the S.M.A.R.T. pending sector count and the sector error count from ddrescue?

Thanks!

Or add the Discussion tool.

First we would need a volunteer who is willing to maintain and moderate such a forum.

For now, please send your questions to smartmontools-support mailing list.

In terms of maintenance and moderation the Discussion tools might be less work than phpBB, and it's probably easier to configure. Perhaps you can consider enabling that tool.

Some people like myself prefer the discussion tool over the mailing list.

Thanks!

There is no "discussion tool" available in the list of supported applications.

In case you mean the discussion feature of Allura: AFAICS this cannot be enabled before SF migrates the project to the new Allura platform.

Yes I mean the Allura tool. I didn't realize it wasn't available in your project site.

I don`t think that we need phpBB. We have 2 maillists with moderate traffic to discuss the things. We have wiki to put important information for users. I think that its more then enough. If you want to discuss some topics - users mail list is a right place to do this. Also in the past phpBB had a major security issues, and from my personal opinion - it provides no benefits compared to mail list we use if traffic is low.
