#1766 closed enhancement (fixed)

Add 0x152d:0x0580 (JMicron/SAT) to drive database

Reported by: Jürgen Teschner Owned by: Christian Franke
Priority: minor Milestone: Release 7.5
Component: drivedb Version:
Keywords: usb Cc:

Description

Hello,
after the update of Openmediavault on my Raspi4b S.M.A.R.T. stopped working with error:

/dev/sda: Unknown USB bridge [0x152d:0x0580 (0x201)]
Nov 3 15:45:45 omv omv-engined[1426]: Please specify device type with the -d option.
Nov 3 15:45:45 omv omv-engined[1426]:

Before the omv update with 6.9.6-1 everything was fine and working as expected.
It seems that the JMicron controller is not in your database.
Manually starting smartctl with -d

sudo smartctl -a -d sat /dev/sda

it's working.
Could you please extend your database?

Please provide a smartctl -d sat -a -x ... output for an affected device. Don't use only -a because it only prints legacy SMART information.

The USB-Id 0x152d:0x0580 was never part of any drivedb.h file since this file was introduced in smartmontools 5.40 (2010). Changing ticket summary accordingly.

The omv update might have overwritten a local addition. Or the previous version contained an distribution specific addition no longer present.

Please note that you could add a local drive database which persists a package upgrade, see the FAQ.
