#1285 | invalid | Smartctl on Sandforce OCZ-VERTEX3 appears to decode xselftest log badly
Description |
Here’s some output that doesn’t look right: # smartctl -l xselftest /dev/sdb smartctl 7.0 2018-12-30 r4883 [x86_64-linux-4.19.86-gentoo] (local build) Copyright (C) 2002-18, Bruce Allen, Christian Franke, www.smartmontools.org === START OF READ SMART DATA SECTION === SMART Extended Self-test Log Version: 1 (1 sectors) Num Test_Description Status Remaining LifeTime(hours) LBA_of_first_error # 1 Extended offline Self-test routine in progress 10% 9479 - # 2 Extended offline Self-test routine in progress 10% 9479 - # 3 Extended offline Self-test routine in progress 10% 9479 - # 4 Extended offline Self-test routine in progress 10% 9479 - # 5 Extended offline Self-test routine in progress 10% 9479 - # 6 Extended offline Self-test routine in progress 20% 9479 - # 7 Extended offline Self-test routine in progress 20% 9479 - # 8 Extended offline Self-test routine in progress 20% 9479 - # 9 Extended offline Self-test routine in progress 20% 9479 - #10 Extended offline Self-test routine in progress 20% 9479 - #11 Extended offline Self-test routine in progress 20% 9479 - #12 Extended offline Self-test routine in progress 20% 9479 - #13 Extended offline Self-test routine in progress 20% 9479 - #14 Extended offline Self-test routine in progress 20% 9479 - #15 Extended offline Self-test routine in progress 20% 9479 - #16 Extended offline Self-test routine in progress 20% 9479 - #17 Extended offline Self-test routine in progress 20% 9479 - #18 Extended offline Self-test routine in progress 30% 9478 - #19 Extended offline Self-test routine in progress 10% 9479 - It appears to be showing the same test 19 times (except for 18, curiously), and none of them claim to have finished. I definitely didn’t start 18 tests in the same hour! This was also a long time ago; the test isn’t running right now (in fact my power on hours are now at 9493), yet it says they’re all in progress, too. |

#1290 | fixed | QNAP-TR002 Port Multiplier does not provide SMART data
Description |
I've originally commented on this issue at github: https://github.com/smartmontools/smartmontools/pull/47#issuecomment-578816101 As it seems the TR002 uses a different chipset (JMS578) than the TR004, I'm opening a new ticket here. I've attached a USBPCap capture file recorded while using the "QNAP External Windows Manager" to read S.M.A.R.T values. I'm not proficient in interpreting the capture but it seems the general technique is similar, at least I'm seeing several read and write requests to LBA 39. |
