| #547 | wontfix | smartctl -H same output for SCSI and ATA devices | ||
| Description |

| #548 | fixed | smartctl mistakenly reports error where none is... | ||
| Description |
The offending line/output is: SMART Status command failed: scsi error medium or hardware error (serious) I noticed this odd behavior when I upgraded from smartmontools from 5.41 to 6.4 (automatically triggered in Debian when diet-upgrading from Wheezy to Jessie). I had several SATA drives (SSD and rotational) that I had tested when connected via SATA and they tested fine, in both 5.41 and in 6.4. When connected to a supported USB FA-GoFlex Desk device, it worked fine under 5.41. After upgrading to 6.4, I saw this erroneous output : smartctl 6.4 2014-10-07 r4002 [armv5tel-linux-3.14.0-kirkwood-tld-1] (local build)

Selective self-test flags (0x0):
After scanning selected spans, do NOT read-scan remainder of disk.
If Selective self-test is pending on power-up, resume after 0 minute delay.
Again, this has been replicated w/ known good drives. Downgrading to 5.41 mitigates the error. |
